Dear randem,
When I open InnoScript 11.1.17 at home (XP SP3 and no internet connection), it only blink and doesn't open anything. But if I use at office (XP Home SP2 shows error window AutoUpdateW but I can solve it by click left menu System Options->Options to Disable the Check for Update on startup.
Any suggestion? Thx
Aloha bibin98,
When did this behavior start happening?
What happened just before this started happening?
Did you install over version 10x?
We need more information on this subject.
I don't install over version 10, but directly 11.1.17. Weirdly in office appear AutoUpdateW and also close, but in my home it only blink and doesn't open anything
I still don't have enough information on the issue. You have been using InnoScript for a while, what exactly happened to make this issue present?
I have to have some starting point in which to search for an answer to this issue. Please start from the beginning...
I install Innoscript 11.1.17 in my home (using WinXP SP3), after install I open it but nothing happen, it just blink and the program not open.
But weirdly, I install in my office (WinXP Home SP2), after install I open it then apeear Runtime error (AutoUpdateW) but I can solve itu by click left menu System Options-> Options to Disable the Check for Update.
My opinion, the program crash but in my home I don't know whats wrong
Try this... Open the InnoScript.ini file then change the parameter CheckForUpdate = False
look in the folder C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Randem Systems\InnoScript\Release
for the ini file.
OK thanks, tommorow I'll tell u the result, right now I'm still at office and the software run well here. Hopefully I just need to replace the settings and all run well. Thanks
Anyway, if I start open the software, it doesn't appear in the taskbar and also using Alt Tab does't show the software. What's wrong with the new version of InnoScript 11.1.17?
But if I start using to Create Script, it shows in the taskbar.
That should only happen in Vista/Windows 7. We will re-check though...
Dear randem,
I'm sorry yesterday I have no time to open my computer at home, is there any update version associated with the software's bug?
You have to be more specific...
According to my problem here, maybe u already create the new software to fix the problem (default CheckForUpdate=False) or fixing the software to appear in taskbar (whether in XP or 2000 or 2003 or Vista or 7)
Here is a printscreen that doesn't appear in taskbar

The CheckForUpdate issue has been fixed in version 11, but if InnoScript was installed over another copy or if InnoScript was previously installed on a machine without totally removing it the problem might persist. This is the only known ways that this has been reported to happen.
There is no fix available for Vista / Windows 7 not showing in task bar as of yet. We have however noticed that if you minimize then maximize the screen then it will appear in the task bar.
I don't install another version of InnoScript except 11.1.17. This is my fresh install of 11.1.17 and I can't open the software, it just blink and doesn't show anything.
Even though I minimize or maximize the screen still doesn't appear in the taskbar (I use WinXP). I have check in another version of WinXP also have the same problem
Just did an install in XP Pro (SP3) and XP Home (SP3) when I minimize then maximize InnoScript it does show in the task bar. I did it several times to be sure.
It seems like you are installed on XP SP2, try updating to SP3 to see if there is a difference. InnoScript was initially developed on XP Pro SP3.
OK... many thanks for the info... later I'll try at home to change CheckForUpdate become False
Good morning,
Thanks randem for the advice, now I can use InnoScript 11.1.17 normally at home by changing CheckForUpdate=False.
