Aloha,
Me again...
Been trying to update my 9.2.3 install to 10.0 using autoupdater after receiving your message a few minutes ago...Crashes with a runtime error 13...
Can still use existing version anyway...Just for you to know
Philippe
Just to try what would happen....I downloaded the 10.00 update from your website, installed it ok and ran it and guess what?
Crashed with runtime error 13 which means that I now lost my 9.3.4 install
Bad luck
Philippe
Since now working with version 9, after update runtime error 13 ... what I should do ??
Where did you install 10.0?
Meanwhile download and install the full version instead of the update to see if that fixes things.
I will look into this.
Please give me more information I cannot make this happen. I installed version 9.3 and 9.4 then installed 10.0 in the same folder and no errors, everything worked.
Please look in your temp folder then post a file with a name like Setup Log 2009-06-10 #001.txt.
Your temp folder will be at C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Temp
I've desintaled old version and I installed new one without success, the same error :-(
There's no any folder called C:Documents and Settings\Local Settings
Thanks
Sure there is, it's just hidden. You need to replace with your own user name...
What is the name on the error screen in the title bar? I can't seem to replicate the error.
If you open Windows Explorer and type or paste the whole path into the address bar you will see what is in that temp folder.
Hi again,
OK..Back online...I also tried to reinstall the COMPLETE 10.0 without uninstalling the previous messy install and got the same error message too, just like centralito...
Now, I looked at the setup file and it looks completely ok...I attach it to this post...
Runtime error 13 is definitely a programming issue in VB, not an install issue...The only thing is obviously I can't see where
Let me know
Philippe

Aloha Philippe,
Yes, I know that error. It's just that It cannot be reproduced here. Tell me what version of the innoscript exe that you have and it's location.
I have an idea, check your language folder in the folder C:\Documents and Settings\YOURUSERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Randem Systems\InnoScript\Release to see if there are duplicate languages. Check the innoscript.ini file to see if it points to this language folder. You can find the ini file in the same location. Also make sure there are no files in the folder C:\Documents and Settings\YOURUSERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Randem Systems\InnoScript\
Back them up before deleting them.
Aloha,
Sorry...Was on the phone...
Innoscript.exe file is 4,874,240 bytes long, stamped as 10.0.0.0 and located under C:Program FilesRandem SystemsInnoScript 10
Philippe
What happens when you run that file directly?
Not sure I understand exactly the language issue...I attach my innoscript.ini file here
There is a Languages directory with a bunch of files, no duplicate language files...Checking the other directory now...
Re: What happens when you run that file directly?
Same...
What is on the title bar?
No title bar...Classical error msgbox and it dies...See attached...

Here's the content of innoscript dir under appdata randem

What is in ReleaseLanguages ?
This:(https://randemsystems.support/discus/messages/12/9468.jpg)
Not all Unicode...Logical?
(Message edited by philippe on June 11, 2009)
Ok, I am preparing a trace file to see where it fails. I will post it when I finish. If you could replace your InnoScript.exe with this one then post the log file I will try to locate where it fails.
OK, no sweat...Thanks
Ok here is the file. After running it look in the folder C:\Documents and Settings\YOURUSERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Randem Systems\RSTools\Log
and post the log information
Sorry, I'm not in my computer now, But I've the same error than philippe but in spanish. When I arrive home I will try to search the hidden file
Thanks
Aloha centralito,
You can run the same file I posted to see if the error you are receiving is in the same location as Philippe.
File seems empty..Attach it...Looks like the dir is called RSTools Log same line, not a subdir...(https://randemsystems.support/discus/messages/12/9476.jpg)

Ok, Try this one now. Tell me what you see
There you go...More interesting...
Here's the text copy/paste:

You should have seen some message boxes. What was the last one you saw and what was in the first one.
The one attached, then the runtime 13...
Going out for lunch in 15 mins...Will resume when back...

Ok, getting closer. Check in regedit to see if you have a registry entry like SYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlNlsLanguage and what it has there for InstallLanguage
040C...Same for Default key
(Message edited by philippe on June 11, 2009)
Replace your file of the same name with this one then register it. The file should be in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Randem Systems\Release
Ialso noticed that this file did not get installed in the proper location which would be C:\Program Files\Common Files\Randem Systems\Release
Did an unregister then a register and launched innoscript and got the attached error runtime 430: this class doesn't handle Automation or the expected interface...Will be back in an hour...

Great, Now replace your InnoScript exe with this one. The reason I could not get it to fail was because the function only fails on some non english installations.
You know what? I know you're not gonna like this: runtime error 13...again...
Ok, I will check again.
Try this file. Replace and re-register. I have to get a copy of Windows non english to test with.
This has got to be it!
Yesssss!!!
Man, this was an interesting one, wasn't it?
(Message edited by philippe on June 11, 2009)
Yes it was. It never happened on the English version of Windows so when two people reported the problem in two different languages it started to click. So I had to find something that would fail depending on the language returned from the registry.
Thanks again for your help as always...
This fix is being uploaded in version 10.0 Build 1.
Hey, no problem....My pleasure...Glad to be able to help improving this fantastic tool...
Now working on putting this baby back into real french
The language file is really a weird Google translation...
Will post it there asap.
Phil
I tried to preserve what you did last time but any new language was indeed auto translated and could be weird...
One great piece of laugh:
Folders, translated into chemises which is the french word for shirts
Well, I fold Er... my shirts don't you?
Time for sleep now.
Thanks again...
Good night...
Here's the (seriously modified) french language file for updating your install package
Phil
Thanks Philippe,
I will include it with the next release.
Another problem solved with RSTools...
Hi again...
Didn't try yet to create a project...I did today and now I get another Runtime Error 13 when trying to create the script...Same applies whatever the language...
Did set up my project as usual, clicked on create and got this nice screen...
I also upload the project file in case you need it...
Looks like nights will be short again

Noticed 2 other things:
- Parameters screen: the tab order doesn't follow the fields (no big deal)
- Clicking on buttons generates randomly the attached shot...Demo stuff, hhhmmm?
Philippe
(https://randemsystems.support/discus/messages/12/9528.jpg)
Hmmm, don't know how the demo control got in there I havent seen it. Update to 10.0.2 to see if it cures things for you. I have installed on a Spanish Version of XP without incident.
Howdy...The button license is not a big deal, but have you seen the new RT 13 I got (post just below the button)...
Thx
Philippe
Did you update to 10.0.2? I have been running 10.0.2 for a while now. I tried to recreate the issues you are having but cannot.
Try this version. Let me know...
Nope...Same...Instead of reusing an existing project, I'll try to recreate one and will keep you posted...Did not uninstall before reinstalling...Should I?
Tried creating a new project: no change: crash!
(Message edited by philippe on June 18, 2009)
No, not a need to. Give me some detailed steps on how to recreate the issue.
BTW: does the tabs work correctly on the parameter screen?
And you are using 10.0.3 now correct?
Yes I am...
Here's what I did:
- Installed 10.0.3 over the 10.0 I had.
- Switched to French
- Said New Project
- Enetered most of the settings
- Selected XP, no internal install, VB6, no manifests, no URL, no Service Packs
- Hit Create and got the crash...
Tabs seem to work okay now...Except when on InfoBeforeFile and InfoAfterFile

(Message edited by philippe on June 18, 2009)
The only message I got was that the .iss field was missing and entry.
Did you fill that out too?
I will try it on the Spanish XP
Sure did...
Tell you what...I'll completely zap the Innoscript 10 directory and reinstall...Is 10.0.3 available on the Innoscript page yet?
Yes it is. It is in two parts now (Normal and Font installation). Since you have already installed the font installed you can just download the normal version. It is very much smaller without the font. The InnoScript install is under 8mb while the font is about 23mb...
OK...Zapped everything, removed Innoscript 10 directory, downloaded and reinstalled the package WITHOUT the font, stayed in english, recreated the project, clicked Create and it crashes showing all controls grayed out as in my previous post...Wouldn't there be something about the default OS settings? (am obviously running it on a French Windows XP)
I printout all steps I did in the attached zip series of shots. You'll find 4 shots from Param settings to the hit create, one of which is called new project....I figured that if you first hit New Project reusing an existing test project, the parameters screen is just fine, but IF you cancel this project and hit it a second time asking to create a NEW one, then the parameter screen is incomplete...
Ok, I repeated your steps on the Spanish XP and duplicated the error. I have something to work with now.
Thanks...
Cool...
Here is the fix for that problem. I will post the complete installation soon.
It is posted on the website.
Thanks...Will test it a bit later today and will keep you posted...
HAve a nice one
Phil
Ok, use the installation or update from the site. I made other changes also.
Hey buddy,
Did you change the registration code again?
Trying on my second machine and none of the codes I have does work...
Works perfect on my laptop...
Thanks for fixing this!!
Philippe
(Message edited by philippe on June 20, 2009)
No registration changes...
OK...Got it to work...Had a typo ...Looks like this one's over...
Good. That one reason to use cut/paste... Eh?
Is everything else working also?
Yep....
Just noticed one or two small translation quirks somewhere, can't recall where anyway
I also wanted to review the text files from your installer...Can you tell me where they are located?
Phil
Download the language pack. The rtf files for the installer are there.
oaky...
Will post it here when I'm done...
