Hi again,
Upgraded to 11.06 today. Just like since 11.0 came out, I can't seem to be able to access the Colors menuitem which is always grayed out and am stuck with the red layout..
I know, I'm late with the french language file but I'm getting to it
Mahalo,
Philippe
Aloha Philippe, Are you saying that InnoScript sees your machine as a virtual machine and unregistered? Look in the Help->about menu and post a screenshot of what you find
The issue with the VM has been fixed and is being uploaded now.
Hmmmm...Not quite, I'm afraid ...
That's what I thought when I loaded the new 07...The menu showed up...Then, following your question from last night, I went to do a shot of the About Box and then, the menu went grayed out again. QUit and restarted IS and the menu was active. Then went to colors, changed the form color, clicked OK and the menu got grayed out again when I wanted to change the buttons color..
Not a big deal anyway
BTW, where do I find the translations of the buttons text? Can't seem to locate it in the language file..
Cheers
Philippe
BTW, Here's the shot...Anything wrong there?
Also, although I succeeded changing the form color to some blue, it looks like it did not retain it and reverted back to the default...
Philippe(https://randemsystems.support/discus/messages/12/10295.jpg)
Yes, it is a big deal. It works here so I need to find out why it does not work there for it will not work somewhere else either. So if you would, give me all the information possible about this. I will make another change for the speed of the computer may affect the new change. I will let you know of a change in a few...
Try this one and let me know. I increased the checking in case of speed differences.
Nope...
- Seeing the menu when loading IS.
- Can click on Colors/Form to change form color
- When the form selection box pops up, the entire menustrip gets disabled
- When I close the box, the menustrip gets enabled except Colors
Using XP SP3 on my business laptop for now..Will try tonite on my Win7 Box at home..

Aloha philippe,
This will definitely fix the issue...
Cool!
Trying it right away...
Philippe
Yep! This one works just great!
Thx a lot! Hope it did not get you too much headache
Going along with my translations (when I have enough consecutive minutes to do it )
Take care
Philippe
Cheers
Yeah, it gave me a headache but this is what we work for .
Thanks for your assistance.
True
Cheers. Will keep you posted...
BTW, any idea where the buttons text is, so that I can translate them? Not sure it's in the generated lang file...Will recheck thoroughly...
Phil
Which Buttons text? The script editor names can be changed inside the program under script editors.
BTW: The buttons have to be shown before you create the language template.
Hmmm...Found another little one:
Navigating thru all boxes to make sure I generated a complete language file, I then used the Exit menu to leave but Exit doesn't do anything
Closed it with System Close but don't know if I made something bizarre...
Phil
Ok, let me know if you can re-create the issue you had.
Found the buttons text...
Still seeing the inactive Exit menuitem...
- Just fired up IS and tried to Exit: no exit.
- Loaded one project, edited it and tried to exit: no exit
Phil
Ok, try this
OK...This one works...
Last couple things (sorry for being a hassle )
- Tried changing the language version to test my french file: you don't refresh in real time like with IS 10, do you?
- Just to figure: changed to German, quit, restarted, saw the menu items in english but the language options had disappeared, leaving an empty first element...Will try to restore defaults...
- Where can I find the left pane translations like Project Options/Settings/versioning etc..?
Cna't locate them.
Thx Ralph
Phil
Re: Previous post:
Figured it actually took some time to redisplay the language list...Don't know why but it's ok...
Now, if you try to display the language file, it takes whatever text is set in the language file and tries to launch Notepad with it, so, in this case, it failed saying that it could not find a file called Fran
What do you mean? You changed the language file name? That was never mean to be...
BTW: Only the English file is deployed with Version 11 and the older language files will not update anything for most all the button and text locations changed and would not be found in the old language files.
Delete all language files in the C:UsersYOURUSERNAMEAppDataLocalRandem SystemsInnoScriptReleaseLanguages
Then place the new language files there starting with the new english file.
Re: your first of the last 2 messages:
No, I did not! What I mean is I translated WITHIN the language file the menuitem labels as they are displayed, that is: French (France) to Fran
Could you send me your French language file so that I can follow you... The other issue I will look into.
Don't have it at home...It's on my laptop and I forgot to take it home...Will have to do it Monday morning, or I'll try to regenerate it this weekend.
AFAIK, nothing wrong with the file. What happens is that, once in french, left pane takes whatever is used in mnulanguage(5) and tries to open it...Try setting mnulanguage(5) to whatever text.
I'll keep you posted tomorrow or Sunday
Phil
Ok, I see what you mean but that is exactly how it is supposed to work. I cannot change the file name to match the mnuLanguage() text. If the user changes one then they have to change the other so that they match. By default it used to be French (France) and it would open the file by the name of French (France).ist. If you change the menu item name then the file name has to match.
Good work on the other catches. The empty file name in the menu has been corrected thanks to your diligence.
Modified the output of the Language template creation not to output the mnuLanguage() text. They are not supposed to be user modifiable... So just remove them from the language file, please.
Released updated version with changes...
Cool!
Will download it asap..
Now, you'll tell me I'm picky but anychance to know (if) where the left pane translations are
Promiss! That's the last one for now ;)
Phil
The new version (11.0 Build 10) will output the names of the fields in the left pane.
Keep them coming!!!
OK..I'll download it now and will try to finish my translation file today..Can you also get me YOUR readme or license file text (from IS install) as I noticed a couple of tweaks to do to the french text?
Thx
Philippe
Just download the language pack from the InnoScript web page. It has all those files in it and a complete English language file ready for translation.
Question:
Downloaded the new one and, to be safe, uninstalled and deleted EVERYTHING from previous install. Am now in trial mode, but looks like I'm missing a field in the Enter License Info...Did you remove the Registration Key field for this one? Can't validate the install...
See attached...
Phil(https://randemsystems.support/discus/messages/12/10311.jpg)
(Message edited by philippe on October 03, 2011)
Yes, the field is not needed anymore an the screenshot is correct The new licenses do not need the missing field. You do however need to use the InnoScript 11 registration codes for it to work.
Here is an update...
Another Update...
Try this mod...
Hmmmm...This one doesn't display the error but when you minimize it, it's so minimized that it's hidden . You can only go to the Taskbar and kill it
Phil
Yes, I noticed that on Windows 7 since they changed the way the taskbar works. If you use Alt-Tab it will be in the list and you can switch to it and then it will be in the taskbar. It's strange...
Make a change to trick Windows into placing the icon on the taskbar.
Yep. This one's ok..
Did you have a chance to look at why I can't display tooltips in French for Inno Setup Params and for the toolbar buttons although the text is there?
No, I did not realize that was an issue. I will look into it.
I believe that I saw them working some time ago, but couldn't tell you in which version...
Here is the fix. It was working a while ago...
Hmmm. No change here...Any changes to the lang file?
Generated a project file to check all...As I stated earlier, the left pane covers a part of the run log window...resolution issue I guess...
See attached...(https://randemsystems.support/discus/messages/12/10330.jpg)
This should fix that...
Yep! It does! Thanks!
So, now, besides the tooltips, can't find anything else...Let me dig around again
Talk to you tomorrow
Philippe
The tooltips work in that version... Keep digging though. It really helps
In which version? Last one you posted?
You have to download and re-install. Other files were changed to allow it to work again.
OK..We're progressing
The Inno Setup Parameters screen tooltips do work now, but I'm still missing the toolbar buttons tooltips...
Another detail: in which text file of YOUR IS installer (pre-install text or license) do you display this message in red: STOP ! Do not install IS......? There's a wrong message I need to change in the French version but can't figure the file...
Phil
Ok, re-download the language pack and it will be there.
Here is the file...
