I keep getting this error message when I try to download and install the newest version:
Run Time Error: 429
ActiveX compenent can't create object
Download did not complete
Go to the website and download the full version then install it, that should correct the situation.
I have been having the same problem. So, I am suppose to go to the main site to download the current InnoScript? Do I go through the BUY NOW?
Probably will be less stressful if I just keep using 9.3 build 4 as it works. Going through the update or new install generally causes me, a novice user, more problems that it is worth
If it an't broke, don't fix it!

I don't know what issue you are having with the new version. The information on updates are listed on the first screen of the InnoScript support forum. If you download the FULL version or the Update you won't have that issue. It seems that you keep attempting to use the updater inside the program which the support sites says NOT to do.
Go to the website and download and install the FULL version. It's just a mouse click to download https://randemsystems.com/innoscript// (https://randemsystems.com/innoscript//)
Every time I get involved with updating my version I run into problems. I should have just used the version I had (and not done the auto-update which didn't work anyway). I went to the site and downloaded the Full version (a zip file). Save it and then opened it and ran the .exe.
No new desktop icon but when I used the current icon I got the registration screen. So, copied and pasted all the right info into this screen. Click OK. Nothing happens .. nothing. If I click the icon again I get the registration screen again. Enter the codes. click OK. Again, nothing.
So, now I can't use your InnoScript but I can still use InnoSetup which is not all that bad unless I wish to show the Make numbers on add/delete files to be included (which I can do manually in InnoSetup if necessary).
What should I do now? I know I am a rank novice on InnoScript but I don't understand why I have so much trouble with updates. Each time I swear I will never undate again, and like Charlie Brown kicking the football, I soon or later relent and try again. And like Charlie I always miss.
Should I have uninstalled the old version first?
Went back and uninstalled the current version, which is the one I downloaded in the zip file, 10.05 Release. Got the installation .exe out of the zip, ran, and after installation I had to click on the icon to start it. Again, the registration screen. Again, entered all the data, which I have saved in my email file and hard copy. Again, takes the data and just plain old stops. Nothing. Now what?
By the way, I am using the registration data sent to me in March, 2007. And I find I can install 9.2 Build 18 and it does work. So, in a pinch I can use this if necessary

Most of the time when users have problems it is simply because they failed to follow instructions properly other times it may actually be a problem. On the main screen in the InnoScript forum (where you are posting) there are messages at the top in big bold letters here is what it says.
Please do not install over 9.x installations, install in a different folder.
You can then copy your InnoScript.ini file to the new location to preserve your Most Recent Used file list (MRU) and other settings.
and
InnoScript 9.3 requires new registration codes. If you are already a Registered InnoScript user, just send us an email to regcodes at randem.com with your old registration information and we will send you the new registration codes. InnoScript will now support creating an installer from an exe/dll from ANY programming language.
If you are having problems with the installation it may be one or both of these issues. Since I cannot see what you are doing I can only rely on what you say you are doing. We try to keep our users up to date on any issues we know about so that they do not have any issues.
You can also run InnoScript from the start menu. Let me know which solution you are going to use.
