Title: More runtime error '5'...
Post by: (Unregistered Guest) on August 05, 2005, 06:11:17 AM
Hi Folks,

Everytime I attempt to open Inno Script I get this error.  I have tried deleting my InnoScript.ini file with no success.  I replaced my .exe with the 3.15 beta that someone posted a while back and it seems to run fine, but the latest version doesn't.  Any ideas?

Thanks,
Steve

Aloha Steve,

What version are you running? The current version is 4.0.6. The old ini files do not run with the updated version as indicated in the documentation. Do not just replace the exe, Fully Install the product.

BTW: InnoScript is one word...

I downloaded 4.0.6, and that's the version I'm having the issue with.  It is the only version I've installed.  I replaced the 4.0.6 exe with the 3.15 beta exe and it runs, but the 4.0.6 does not.

Cheers.

You have not given enough information to determine anything. The instructions boldly state that you should not run a later version over an really earlier version.

There have been changes since 3.15 and you probably have not looked at the changes so there maybe procedure changed you do not understand.

Please describe in better detail what you mean by Having issues with

Ok, I'll try this one more time:

1.  Installed InnoScript 4.0.6

2.  run InnoScript 4.0.6.  Result = Run-time error 5

3. search Randem Systems' site for resolution, find delete InnoScript.ini solution.

4. Apply solution, result= no change

5. return to Randem Systems' site, find suggestion  to replace existing installed .exe file with one provided (here: https://randemsystems.support/index.php?topic=417.0 (https://randemsystems.support/index.php?topic=417.0))

6. result= InnoScript now runs

So, to recap, I installed v4.0.6 and it didn't work.  I replaced the 4.0.6 .exe with the 3.15 beta .exe and it works.  So what's wrong with 4.0.6?

Nothing, 4.0.6 has been run by users for a few months and there are many users who use it. There are people in several forums who use it everyday. Since you are not really explaining much about how and where you install it, help can be guess work.

What OS are you using? Are your SP's up to date? Do you get the error 5 as soon as you open InnoScript or when you open a project? Is it a clean install?

Since you have a unique situation, more info is needed to give you a unique answer.

BTW: the newest version is 4.0.7. So, I know you are not downloading the version 4.0.6 that was in use. Unless you went into the archives.
