My head is spinning! I was up until 11:30 PM EST last night trying & trying to figure out what is going on. I was able to install InnoScript on my old Dell PC running Windows XP.  Therefore, there must be something wrong with my new Dell PC.

I have installed LogMeIn (last time clicking on your file here just brought up a listing of the file's code). Don't know why but this time LogMeIn installed fine.

Now I have another problem - seems like they are growing exponentially!

You see, I don't like to have to log in on my PC every time I start it up (hey, I am the only one here) so I removed my password.

So, now I have to set up a password so LogMeIn will work and, you know with old men who normally don't do that, it can be a challenge but will try.

Then I can use my laptop next to my new PC to see if remote control or assess which ever one it is, will work.

Then when that works you can look at my PC and maybe figure out what is the problem.

In the meantime I am going to see how I can return the PC to Dell.  I will post a message here when the LogMeIn works ...

I know the time difference between us is great and could be another problem. But let's give it a try.

Ok try this file

When you state problems Please be really clear as to what you mean. What error message etc... exact error messages get exact solutions while Vague errors message get vague solutions...

No help this weekend..best bet would be to have you LOOK at my PC if you have time. Just need the file that allows you to do this as couldn't get it off this message board. Now I am going to bed as almost 11:30PM EST.  Afraid I may have a pig-in-a-poke

Chat was of no help

Trying a help number but it appears to be a premium $$$$ number. Maybe Dell has no help for 2 day old computers.

davethomson

I am chatting with Dell Help right now (11:02PM EST) to see if they can help.

davethomson

In SAFE MODE installation STOPS as

unable to register DLL/OCX failed exit code 0x5

so, you still want to look at my PC remotely? And would this conversation work better if I call you?

davethomson

OK, two things:

1. I can't open the file you have in your post,LOGMEIN.MSI.

2. I installed 11.1 on my old XP and it worked so I has to be the crummy Dell PC. Do you  still wish to look remotely at my PC? if so what do I do as I  don't know how to get that file.

Randem

I could try to remote into your computer to see what is mucking it up... Go to http://www.whatismyip.com to get your external IP address.

Randem

Something on your computer is mucking things up. Try booting into Safe Mode then installing to see if it works.

Press F8 as the computer is booting then choose Safe Mode with Networking

The same error as always, in is not registered. look down this message board to the big blue banner that describes the error.  And you say no one has had a problem like this installing it on windows 7? You didn't let me know about that.  I assume that people had installed it on Windows 7 so what could be the problem with this brand new, out of the package PC?

I am going to bed.  My mind is in no condition to continue due to the huge frustration I am experiencing.

Randem

Sure it installs on Windows 7. I just not too long ago double checked it.

davethomson

So, what is your plan now to enable me to run InnoScript on this new Dell PC using Windows 7?

davethomson

Tried again and it was, again, successful - but program stills fails

Randem

Even after registering it the error message states that it is not registered?
