I'm off until Monday, but I'll check back occasionally in the mean time.

Thanks for your help.

Randem

ntdll.dll is a system module.

Which version of XP are you using?
Which SP for XP is installed?

Are these files on your system?

windowssystem32ikgcg.dll
windowssystem32isid.dll

If so what version, Date and Time?

davidmc

I've just checked all of the Trend logs again, and all of the Windows event logs. The Trend logs have nothing in them at the time of the crash and no mention of Innoscript any place. The only thing that does show us is the Application Event log error which is:
Source: Application Error
EventID: 1000
Category: None
Description: Faulting application innoscript.exe, version 9.3.0.2, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.5512, fault address 0x00028bed.

It's always the same address.

Check your Trend Micro logs to see if it is removing something related to InnoScript.

davidmc

Yes, with group policy. I wondered if that might be aggravating the problem, but I haven't seen anything in the event logs to indicate so. Every other app works, including ones I write. And these computers are very stable.

Randem

Are you running on a domain with domain security?

davidmc

We're using Trend Micro. This is a US DOE lab.

The funny thing is that it will run on the machines, usually under some account, but not all accounts (all are admin accounts). And once it stops working for one account, I can't get it to run again on that account.

Randem

That is the correct file. What kind of security application is on the machines with the crashes?

rsgenrtns.dll is 274,432 bytes dated 9/27/08 8:31 PM

Randem

David tell me what version, dae and time of the file rsgenrtns.dll is in your WindowsSystem32

What kind of security software are you running on these machines where you get the crashes?

Randem

I have installed InnoScript 9.3 Build 1 and 9.3 Build 2 with your registration information on several machines and have gotten no crashes or error what-so-ever so the issues have to be within your machine. Please read this https://randemsystems.support/expert-computer-repair/virus-problems/ perhaps it can help you find some reasons for your crashes. They are not directly related to InnoScript. Perhaps you can better define crash. Is there an error message? What is the status of the Windows Updates on your machine and other details.

Here are images from our registration using your registration codes.

OK. I was willing to believe that the profile might have some issues, so on a test machine where the program will install, but crashes when you click Enter License Info, I uninstalled the program, then removed the profile of the user, then logged in as that user to create a new profile, installed the program, and it still crashes when you click Enter License Info. Another account on that machine will install AND bring up the license screen without crashing. BUT once I enter the license info in that account the program immediately crashes when run in the other users account (the one with the new blank profile).

So I think that says the issue is not in the users part of the registry or in the files in the users profile path. Is there someplace in the registry where you're storing information that does not get removed when the program is uninstalled?

Randem

No, all the files are in the location I posted. It does look like your profile has a bit of an issue.

davidmc

Yes, I can register it in another profile, and it looks like its working, but when I go back to the original profile and run it, it crashes immediately. I'll try rebuilding the profile. Ugh!

I tried that on another machine, and it would work if I deleted the profile, logged in as the original user and installed the program. If I copied all the files from the profile back first it would fail. Do you have files written in places where I wouldn't look for them?
