Great, The InnoScript.ini file held old form information that was rendered from the last exe. All it did was duplicate that. When you renamed the ini file InnoScript had to create new information because none were present.
Sorry, forgot to try it with the ini renamed. When I did that, the screen rendered correctly at 1280x1024. Thanks.
hmmm... those calculation are there for the tabbed control to be a little less than the size of the container to allow room for the buttons. Perhaps you can post the image. It was tested on a resolution much surpassing 1280x800 and showed perfectly. Did you rename the InnoScrip.ini file and run the app?
Good progress. The tabbed control now shows a border at the point where the screen previously just went gray. I can drag the border to resize the tabbed control to full height and, voila!, the buttons become visible. To finish the job, maybe you just need to do something like setting the height of the tabbed control equal to the height of its container?
Ok, here is another attempt this should get it (Use same procedure as before). If the inside window doesn't maximize you will need to rename the innoscript.ini file.
OK, Still working on it...
OK. I thought it was a patch. Moved it, ran it. No joy. Screen rendering same as before.
Actually it should not work from your desktop. You would need to rename your old version of the file and copy that file into your InnoScript folder where the original was for it to operate.
Well, here's what I see. I just put the patch on my desktop and tried to execute it.(https://randemsystems.support/discus/messages/12/5454.jpg)
mitty,
Try this version (7.2 Build 3)and let me know what you see
Glad InnoScript has worked for you.
Yes, We will let you know. You are automatically on the InnoScript Update Email list.
It's well worth the fifteen bucks even if it is a little warty. I already have the setup package that I needed. Without your app it would have taken much longer to figure out Inno Setup.
Pls let me know when the updated app is available.
Ok, We will be working on new screen resolution for many more resolutions. But for now 1280x768 and 1280x800 are the best for rendering.
Update:
1) Accelerator keys are there, but when the buttons are not rendered, the keys don't work. Too bad.
2) Running the app at 1280x768 gets me the buttons although my flat panel squishes the width of the screen and everything is very tough to read. It only works, however, if I switch to this resolution before loading the app. If loaded, the app apparently does not process the windows messages associated with screen resizing.
Renaming the ini doesn't work at all. It makes the entire screen area of the tabbed control stay blank even after the pjt is loaded.
I did try the app on the P1610 native screen (I use 1280 x 1024 when it is docked) and at 1280 x 768 the control renders properly with the buttons at the bottom. Too bad you didn't provide accelerator keys for those hidden buttons!
I have attached the ini.
Also InnoScript was tested on a resolution of 1280x800 and you are using 1280x1024. Our resolution doesn't go that high so If renaming the InnoScript.ini file doesn't work I will have to test on a 1280x1024 system.
Here is what the screen is supposed to look like...
Rename the InnoScript.ini file then re-run InnoScript to see if that helps.
As for the file from the systems folder. Both applications explain in detail why you should not use those files and what to do if you are going to use the files from the system folder. You are suppose to copy those files (after researching them) to another folder and re-direct InnoScript to search for the files there by adding the path to the search area.
The Add Files and Add Folders tabs both have buttons on the bottom to allow input. Since your screen is not displaying properly that is why you do not see the buttons.
OK, redownloaded, paid the $15 and things are looking promising. I got Inno Setup to run through to a plausible-looking installation program though I did not run it to completion.
But
My app apparently wants mscoree.dll which is only available in c:windowssystem32. Your program and Inno Setup are both very unhappy with this. Do I put a copy in my app directory, just delete the reference, or what?
8 - Add any additional files or folders ...
How? Neither the Add Files nor the Add Folders accepts input. I can click to get a white select box outline on the first line but cannot figure out how to launch a file dialog and the box will not accept typing.
And ... InnoScript is still not displaying properly. Same as the screen shot I posted, the bottom quarter of the form is not rendering even though the bottom ribbon appears.
Yes, We could do a refund if you don't use it after the trial period of 5 days.
>another machine
mitty,
SOrry, there is no way to reset the trial period. You would need to install on another machine for the trial period.
>4 - Did this happen the first time you started InnoScript?6 - Why did you remove the VB Runtime File Location. 7 - Did you get any installation errors.
You had no extension (.iss) in the script dropdown box
Aloha mitty,
Found the problem. You had no extension (.iss) in the script dropdown box and that triggered the error. It will be fixed in the next release. You don't need to send any of the information that I requested, your picture of the error gave me enough clues to find the error.
Thank you for reporting this error.
Aloha mitty,
I haven't seen that error in years. I need a few things from you to assist in finding this error.
1 - What is your machine name.
2 - What is your user name.
3 - Zip and post your InnoScript.ini, .net project file and your InnoScript .pjt file.
4 - Did this happen the first time you started InnoScript?
5 - What is your display resolution.
6 - Why did you remove the VB Runtime File Location.
7 - Did you get any installation errors.
The version you are using is 7.2 Build 1 (It's on the image you posted). If you could get this information to me I can possibly find this error.
I would like to try your innoscript application, but all it does is crash for me. Machine is Fujitsu P1610 XPsp3 Tablet. App was downloaded on Friday. I cannot check the version because your trial timer has shut down on me.
See http://www.scc.net/~mitty/willowlane.net/innoscript.jpg (http://www.scc.net/~mitty/willowlane.net/innoscript.jpg). This screen shot was taken after clicking the stoplight icon. My installations are in non-default directories but other than that, the machine is pretty vanilla. Note that the bottom half of the form does not seem to be rendered correctly.

I am using the latest version of Innoscript, VB6, Crystal Reports 11, trying to install on Vista.
Setup will not register DBGRID32.ocx but I can do that manually. What I cannot get registered is tabctl32.ocx and mscomctl.ocx. The fail is Class not registered 00000010-0000-0010-8000-00AA006D2EA4. Have any suggestions? I know it is Vista but there has got to be a way.
Please start a new thread for new problems.
Please indicate what version of InnoScript you have. The latest version doesn't exactly say much for some user say they have the latest and are indeed several revisions behind.
You will need to post your script for me to see if I see anything.
It is me again, you know, the guy who uses Mac for internet and does his work on Windows XP Pro.
The iss is attached. I am using Innoscript 9.0 build 6
Oops... This is bad
AppId=InnoScript Beta
Please edit the Beta.tpl file and delete the contents of the file and re save.
Do you get any error on the install for those three files you mentioned?
Have you tried the install on XP?
No problems when installing.
I deleted the contents of Beta.tpl
Will try to install on XP tonight
So, when do you get the error, When you attempt to register it yourself?
Do these files already exist on your computer before installation?
This is probably your culprit:
PrivilegesRequired=None
You need administrative privileges to register. you should have gotten an error message of some sort if you were not an administrator.
The error appeared at the beginning of the Installation, just before the Crystal Reports Redistribution packet was loaded. Both laptops were clean. I was signed on as the administrator on both computers. These are the exact same fails as on the Vista machines. I will change PrivilegesRequired and let you know the results. To make things more difficult, we just installed the program on an XP Desk Top with no problem. Cannot get the Lap Tops to load. One is a HP and the other a Sony.
