InnoScript starts then closes saying that it is already open.

Great! The Updater does not use SQL statements but they are used in the php script the updater runs on our server. I would imagine that your firewall is blocking the script then examining it for content. We might have to obfuscate that a bit so as not to trigger firewalls.

Thanks for your help in this matter also.

So it looks like I may have got it working now, and with the AutoUpdate as well, but I'm not sure why I've had to do what I've had to do, anyway I ran up WireShark on my machine to start capturing packet data from my PC to the Randem Systems website, it would appear that although I have no problems getting to the website via Internet Explorer, for some reason the InnoScript application is having TCP connections blocked via our firewall which I suspect is down to the updater adding the SQL "Insert into" scripting after the URL, anyway I have added an exception into the firewall for to allow all TCP traffic for *.randemsystems.com and this seems to have resolved my issues and I am able to launch the InnoScript application with the AutoUpdate enabled with no issues now.

Many thanks for all your help and hopefully this post will be of use to other users of your application.

Ok, security is what I am concerned about. Try to use the "Run As Administrator" to see if there is any difference.

inzomniak

Just to confirm the error said "\InnoScript 11\InnoScript", it did not mention the .exe at "\InnoScript 11\InnoScript.exe", also as far as I'm aware the only difference from the Enterprise version to the Professional version is addition of more security and networking features, volume license management and is only available to corporate customers, other than that the functionality is the same across all versions.

Hmmm... When you say that "C:\Program Files (x86)\Randem Systems\InnoScript\InnoScript 11\InnoScript is not found, is \InnoScript 11\InnoScript really \InnoScript 11\InnoScript.exe or is that not in the message? InnoScript was not tested on any Enterprise Editions of Windows. However it was tested n Windows 7 & 8 32bit and 64bit versions. There must be something different in the Enterprise Editions.

Could you try Running InnoScript as Administrator to see what happens. IE change the shortcut's compatibility mode or right click on the exe then select "Run As Administrator".

Ok, just for my own sanity check I have deployed another new Windows 7 Enterprise 64-Bit image to my test/packaging PC, downloaded a fresh copy of InnoScript 11.3 Build 1 (Confirmed file size 20.3 MB (21,374,517 bytes)) and installed it again.

When I run it up I can see that InnoScript starts, then I get a message saying "Checking For Update...", which is then replaced with another message saying "Downloading InnoScript Release Update...", InnoScript then closes and gets replaced with the "InnoScript Already Running" message, while this is going on I am checking in Task Manager I can see  InnoScript.exe *32 run up and then a few seconds later AutoUpdateW.exe *32 run up then close, when I get the "InnoScript Already Running" message the only Inno process in Task Manager is InnoScript.exe *32.

Also as per your last resort suggestion, I have changed the "CheckForUpdates" option in the InnoScript.ini file to "False" and InnoScript now runs up, but I thought I would click the "Check for Updates" button, I get the messages saying "Checking For Update...", then "Downloading InnoScript Release Update...", InnoScript the restarts and I get a new error message "76 - SetSourceFilePathe() Path not found" when I click OK it is replaced with the following message "C:\Program Files (x86)\Randem Systems\InnoScript\InnoScript 11\InnoScript Does not exist", however I do not know why as I can see the folder location and file in Windows Explorer.

Just downloaded and re-installed InnoScript on Windows 7 and Windows 8 and found no problems.
Could you give more details about the issue.

1  - What is the size of your download? (Should be 20.3 MB - 21,374,517 bytes)
2  - Did the install end correctly?

We have noticed that if there is an HTTP backup program running in the background (backup to cloud), it does affect HTTP downloads and the downloads have gotten corrupted or not completed.

Randem

OK, then this does not seem to be an Auto Updater issue.
What OS are you running? InnoScript has to be running. Check your Task Manager after sorting on the name column.
I would imagine that If you restarted your system that InnoScript would work.

Last resort, Open the InnoScript.ini file then change the following CheckForUpdates = False

Good morning and thank you for the prompt response,

I am currently running InnoScript 11.3. Build 1, as downloaded from your homepage yesterday, so far to resolve I have removed and reinstalled InnoScript, still getting the same issue, I have deployed a new clean build to my desktop and I get the same message again.

Randem

Aloha inzomniak and Welcome,

What version of InnoScript are you running? The current version is 11.3 Build 1. If you are not running the current version, please install the current version. There was an issue with the Auto updater in some earlier versions because it has changed.

inzomniak

I have checked task manager based resolution on a previous case that was opened for this in 2012, both InnoScript.exe and AutoUpdateW.exe are not running in task manager.
